Description
For centuries the Highlands of Scotland have been in the hands of private landowners but local communities are now challenging this system of ownership and campaigning to buy their land back. This ...whole Scottish land reform movement began in the nineties in Assynt, a small parish in the North West Highlands where a group of crofters, subsistence farmers whose ancestors have worked this land for generations, fought back.
