| Footage description: | The opening scenes show the village of Ashover, near Chesterfield. Josh, who has recently left school is seen cycling to work at a garage. Josh encounters his primary school teacher at the garage. A flashback shows him doing well at primary school. Josh is then seen looking around the garage workshop. Josh is seen at his school, where a teacher lectures mechanics in a flat monotone Josh is then seen chatting up a girl in a local pub. Back at the garage, Josh solves a mechanical problem. The sarcastic remarks of Josh's teacher are contrasted with the useful instruction in mechanics Josh gets from the garage mechanic. Further scenes show Josh making progress at the garage and again flashbacks show his dreadful schoolteacher. The programme concludes with Josh resolving to take a course in mechanics at the local technical college. |
