Description
The role of the Police Officer in the 1970s is radicallydifferent from his role twenty or even ten years ago. His initial ten week training course has similarly had to change, The course was comple...tely rethought and reassembled to provide a series of steps leading up to final completion. The course has also become more activity based and the film follows a number of realistic 'beat incidents' and examines the work of the Central Planning Unit in relation to industrial Police Training Centres. The rationale for the course formulation and methods of evaluating recruits' learning experiences, attitudes and behaviour, are explained by the police instructors concerned as these beat incidents unfold. The academic consultant was Mike Golby of the Open University.
