Description
Professor Arnold Kettle looks at extracts from televised versions of three novels: the opening sequence of Pride and Prejudice; the scene in Wemick's castle from Great Expectations; and the conclus...ion of cousin Bette. He considers these extracts in the light of the texts on which they are based and the problems raised by trying to televise novels with complex narrative structures.
