Description
This programme questions the conventional stereotype of the 19th century industrial patron of art, by looking in detail at James Leathart's collection. The sort of pictures he bought, why he bought... them, his relationship to the artsists working for him and his attitudes towards art and the lead-working business which provided him with his purchasing power are combined to produce a complex picture of one of these new patrons.
