Footage description: | Footage - Drottningholm Court Theatre stage. Group of 5 singers. 3 women leave the group. 2 men, Tamino and Papageno remain. Papageno and Moor circle each other then separate leaving a woman (Pamina) tied up. Papageno and Pamina sing then leave the stage (0'23"-1'20") - Applause. Curtain rises. Title: "Act 1 Finale". Tamino stands with his back to audience. 3 "boys", seated, descend from clouds waving to Tamino. They sing to each other. Tamino faces audience. 3 "boys" ascend with clouds, waving at Tamino. Applause (1'21"-2'58") - Tamino sings. Close up of temple building (scenery). Tamino runs towards doors. Man in black (Speaker) emerges from central door. 2 men sing and walk around stage (2'59-7'09") - Speaker clasps Tamino's shoulders. Tamino runs to back of stage then men face each other. Tamino grabs Speaker who walks away and exits through back doors (7'10"-8'38").Tamino sings kneeling on stage. He stands and sings, holding out flute. He plays the flute. Animals appear from the wings. A gorilla sits leaning against Tamino as he plays the flute. Animals listen and move to music. Tamino kneels and sings. Animals gather round. He plays flute. He speaks to polar bear who nods. He holds chimp's hand. Tamino leaves stage (8'39"-12'40") - Pamina and Papageno come on stage and run into a bear. Pamina sings. Papageno plays pipes. They hold chimps' hands and sing. Moor enters and grabs them then throws them to the ground. Men with chains enter from all sides. Papageno opens box. Men gather round to see. Sound of music playing. Men all smile and dance around couple. Polar bears swaying. Men dance off stage followed by chimps. Applause (12'41-14'59") - Couple stand and look at box. They walk to back of stage. Woman with bucket appears. Papageno runs around and kneels by Pamina (15'00-16'30).Crowd appears. Papageno lies down at front of stage. Sarastro walks across stage. Crowd waves. Panning shot of crowd singing. Shot of whole stage with orchestra in foreground. Crowd leaves. Pamina kneels and sings to Sarastro. He walks away. He offers a hand to Pamina who stands. She walks away. He clasps her shouders. They sing. Tamino and the Moor enter. Tamino and Pamina see each other and embrace. Moor separates them. He kneels beside Sarastro. Papageno runs over to Tamino and kneels (16'31"-21'28") - Jailers take Moor away. 2 men enter stage and converse with Sarastro. Tamino and Pamina embrace. She gives him a necklace. Sarastro places hand on Tamino's shoulder. They leave the stage. Crowd leaves. Pamina remains. Applause (21'29"-24'14"). |
