Description
This programme is an introduction for students to the human and social dimensions of economic history. The programme aims to show that industrialisation is not the uniform process that it is often ...taken for and uses illustrations from the French Lyonnais region in the 19th century. The examples include the industrialisation and politicisation of Lyon's silk weaving industry and the relationship between the city and country by exploring the connection between banking and wine production in the Beaujolais region.
