Description
The first half of this video examines the lives of French workers such as silk-weavers; coal miners, wine makers and gun smiths in the late 19th and early 20th century. It aims to stimulate student...s in to understanding the living and working conditions of French workers in this period and complete a number of exercises based on this section. The second half of the video looks at industrialisation from an academic historical viewpoint through interviews with Prof. Sidney Pollard and Dr Clive Trebilcock.
