Description
Victoria Terminus is a monument of the British Raj, and so it's as much British as it is Indian. I want to explore the way it stands at a meeting point of cultures. What happens when two cultures c...ollide? What meanings does such a building have? And for whom? It is a building introduced into another culture as an expression of imperial power. But we need to consider whether it can only be judged by western standards. We can trace both Western and Indian elements in this building; and an important part of its meaning lies in its context.
