Description
This programme is for the second level Social Science course National Income and Economic Policy. It examines unemployment by focusing on the views of four economists from opposing schools of thoug...ht. The programme first traces the departure of current Government policy from the previous Keynesian demand type policy. The issue of youth unemployment raises the question of whether selective measures and subsidies will reduce unemployment. Each of the economists is asked to put their views of the causes and the cures of unemployment. These views are then related to the present Government's economic policy.
