This programme has been designed to illustrate in the career of one person, Dianna Moylan, some of the major themes in the last third of the course E200. It places particular emphasis on change and... development in adult life. It reflects the concept of perspective transformation, sex roles, and the significance of work and leisure pursuits for one's identity. It covers certain significant change aspects in the adult career of a woman approaching middle-age.

Footage description: To camera, then over stills illustrating events in the life of Dianna Moylan, Peter Woods introduces the programme. He explains that it will examine some aspects of the varied educational career and private life of Dianna Moylan. Over numerous stills relating to her childhood Di Moylan describes her earliest memories and considers the schools she attended. Long sequence in wh.ich Woods questions Di Moylan about periods of change and development in her adult life. She talks about her decision not to go to university; her marriage, including periods of marital discord; her experiences as an OU student; her more recent adult life. Further stills of the young Moylan, and of her and her family as they are today. In voice-over Woods describes Dianna's career since obtaining her OU degree. She then discusses with Woods her hopes and expectations for the future.
