Description
This programme illustrates the variety of non-verbal communication that occurs in the classroom. The focus is on how pupils and teacher use facial expressions, body gesture, orientation and proximi...ty in opening and closing encounters. It goes on to explore how conventional behaviour for seeking attention are altered and modified by using different non-verbal strategies. The issue of how inferences can be made about particular isolated pieces of behaviour is also raised. The programme concludes by showing a sequence of classroom behaviour which students are asked to analyse in a systematic way.
