Description
In this programme the background og Punjabi migrants is explored: the province of Punjab, the Sikh religion, and the history of migration coinciding with the rise and fall of the British Raj. Two P...unjabi families are introduced; the Ghattaoras who remain separated after eight years because of difficulties with immigration authorities, and the Jaggers who are now represented in Britain by a second generation - Joginder Lal and his family. The Jaggers are members of the ad dharma community who, by their social status are effectively prevented from advancement in the Punjab, a community which has greatly benefited by some members migrating.
