Description
This programme looks at how street traders, or 'street kids', as they are known, do their sums. Often these children have had only a partial experience of schooling, and are not proficient at schoo...l maths. Yet they can add up and do other sums in their heads, having learnt the basic attributes of number and logic from their street experiences. Admirers of their achievement point out how street mats makes sense, and ask whether all the routine procedures of school maths are really necessary.
