Description
1. Looking at painting: this section looks at Jackson Pollock's Summertime and aims to give the student some guidelines on how to look at and appreciate a work of modern art. -- 2. Using an exhibit...ion: this section aims to give ideas to teachers on how they might use an exhibition with their students. a group of students visit 'Venus Re-defined' at Liverpool's Tate Gallery and follow up the visit with classroom activities. -- 3. Artist, curator, public: this section looks at the 'Africa Explores' exhibition curated by Susan Vogel from the Museum of African Art in New York. It asks what is art and what is artefact, and who decided? -- 4. Images of self: this section looks at how photography has emerged as a modern art form. The first part looks at children working with an exhibition of children's work called 'Amazing me' at the 'Photographers' Gallery' in London. The second part looks at the work of the black photographer Joy Gregory.
