Description
This programme revisits the island of Skomer after the Sea Empress oil spillage in 1995. The Open University previously visited the island to investigate how bird population data is statistically c...ollected for MU120 Open Mathematics. This visit attempts to show how the Sea Empress oil spillage has affected bird numbers. The measured analysis of bird numbers contradicts the view of an environmental catastrophe. The programme also questions if changes to the bird population can be solely attributed to the Sea Empress oil spillage raised.
