Description
This programme follows the fortunes of some villagers from Sakaltutan who have migrated to larger cities in Turkey or in Europe. It begins by focusing on a villager in Adana in Southern Turkey, who... has prospered by participating in the construction boom in that area. Then the programme moves to Germany, to the town of Pforzheim, where other villagers, also engaged in construction, complain bitterly about discrimination and alienation from their own culture and way of life. Yet the higher standards of living there and educational opportunities for their children, make returning to Turkey a difficult decision.
