Description
The period from the mid-1960s to the end of the 1970s was a period of rapid economic growth in Brazil and is often referred to as "The Economic Miracle". During this period the car indust...ry especially grew rapidly and the country became heavily dependent on imported oil. With the advent of two world oil crises in the mid- and late 1970s the country was forced to re-examine its development policies and find alternatives to imported oil. This programme examines Brazil's response to the oil crises and the effect of changing policies on the people of the country.
