Description
This programme gives the Soviet view of the nuclear weapons dilemma. Filmed in Moscow, it shows senior Soviet spokesmen, academics, journalists and military representation, talking about and respon...ding to key issues in the nuclear debate. In particular the programme explores the impact of the Second World War on the formation of Soviet attitudes towards a nuclear confrontation, and identifies from a Soviet perspective, where the threat to peace is considered to be the most urgent. The programme then continues by looking at the current organisation of Soviet nuclear forces, and the ways in which the Soviet military believe a future nuclear war might be fought.
