Description
This programme shows how Britain's geology can be interpreted to give a geological history of the area. This indicates that some 700 million years ago the area of continental crust was located in t...he southern hemisphere and near enough to the South Pole to experience glaciation. Since then its drift northwards has taken it through various climatic belts until in the recent past it has once again been glaciated but this time in a glacial advance from the North.
