Description
This programme takes us on a journey through Saskatchewan, Quebec, British Columbia, Texas and South Wales. It is possible to discover the nature of ancient rivers by comparing the sedimentary stru...ctures forming beneath modern rivers to sedimentary structures we find preserved in the rock record. The braided South saskatchewan and kicking Horse Pass rivers are very similar to ancient deposits found along coastlines of the Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec. Similarly the meandering Brazos river, Texas, reveals to us the secrets of the Devonian rocks near Llanstephan in South Wales.
