Description
The aim of this programme is to teach difficult concepts about chemical equilibrium in an interesting way. It starts by shwoing that the hydrogen ion concentration of an aqueous solution of hydroch...loric acid is markedly different from that of ascetic acid. What happens in the dissociation reaction is predicted with a specially designed 'equilibrium game' and the prediction is confirmed by experiment. The programme continues to look at the role of indicators in acid-base equilibria, and it concludes with the spectrophotometric determination of the equilibrium constant of one such system.
