Description
Grant Mossop examines several rock sequences in the Foreland Basin, starting with Jurassic rocks near to the town of Banff. He finds the evidence which reveals that the sea water depth in this basi...n was constantly changing, creating a number of depositional cycles. the influence of sea level changes and tectonics for these cycles and related stratigraphic units is discussed. The film also looks at the Calgary Core Store to look at some of the Foreland Basin structures found beneath the exposureless praries. The film concludes in the Calgary tower where the economic importance of the local geology is emphasised.
