Description
Techniques for enhancing or preventing the chances of successful conception fall into two groups. The introduction or removal of physical barriers to the process of fertilization, and the manipulat...ion of the hormone cycles that control fertility and conception. Some procedures such as in vitro fertilization, IVF, combine both techniques. The successes in the management of human fertility that are coming from the understanding of physiology of the reproductive process are mirrored in the management of the fertility of farm animals and in the preservation of populations of exotic animals that are threatened with extinction.
