Over shots of word processors being used Klinger explains why the introduction of new equipment has necessitated a re-organisation of secretarial and clerical services to manage. She explains the role of both correspondence secretaries under the new system. An administrative secretary is seen at work. In voice-over she explains why she prefers this work to having to type all day. Two managers interviewed about the new system of secretarial support, one being in favour, one against. Film of the new centralised dictation system being used. In voice-over Klinger explains how it operates. Two members of the staff explain why they think their careers will benefit from the new system. Correspondence secretaries are seen at work. Two of them describe their work and give their views on the new system. Shots of a supervisor at work. She is responsible for a small group of secretaries. She explains why she likes the new system. Another administrative secretary expresses opinions on the reorganisation. Office scenes, over which Cass briefly explains why Texaco implemented this new system of clerical and secretarial support. Two managers and an administrative secretary express reservations about the changes. They complain that the new system is more impersonal than the old. Interview with Norma Klinger who explain the benefits resulting from the changeover in some detail. The programme ends with film of her arranging the installation of word-processors in a new office.
