Shots of Reddy chatting to the two actors, Mike Hall and Arthur Whybrow, who are to take part in this programme with him. In voice-over Tom Vernon states the aim of the programme. A scene is enacted in which Mike Hall plays a manager discussing a problem with an employee, played by Reddy. Hall plays his part by assuming a parental ego-state. After the scene Reddy explains what indicates a parent wavelength. The same scene is played out with Whybrow in the role of manager. He assumes a child ego-state. After the scene Reddy comments on the characteristics of a child wavelength. Reddy briefs each actor separately abobt their roles in another encounter. Whybrow plays a salesman who has a grievance concerning his salary and argues out the situation with his manager. After the scene, Reddy considers Whybrow's child ego-state, and Hall's parent ego-state. The salesman sketch is re-enacted. This time Hall plays the salesman, Whybrow the manager. Both are asked to employ child ego-states. The sequence ends with a brief discussion of their performances. Hall, Whybrow and Reddy are filmed discussing the mornings work over drinks at the bar. The actors question Reddy about the purpose of the sketches and consider the usefulness of trying to adopt specific ego-states. They continue this discussion back to the studio. The final sequence has Hall playing a junior employee and Wbybrow a manager with a parent ego-state. The sketch is cut to allow a brief discussion between the actors about the usefulness of the whole exercise.
