In his Pavis lecture, Stuart Hall addressed how "the multicultural question" requires a transformation in thinking about culture, problematising ideas such as community, "ethnic mino...rity" and hybridity. He argued for a concept of multiculturalism which refuses simplistic distinctions between biological and cultural racism and which combines the political goals of equality and of recognition of difference.
