Description
'175,000 tonnes of sausages are eaten each year, making them one of the nation's favourite foods. The humble banger has been the staple of every kitchen for thousands of years, eaten by farmers and... royalty alike the world over. The Christians tried to ban them, but Queen Victoria loved them and they became an icon of post war Britain. In this edition of Ever Wondered About Food Paul shares his definitive recipe for the classic British dish toad in the hole, explaining the importantance of not pricking the sausages! He cooks up a feast with an authentic French cassoulet and rustles up a scrumptious chorizo salad for a perfect light lunch. We look at the new sausage revolution and ask what's in our sausage? Where does it come from? And is it good for us?'
