Description
In this programme Kathy Sykes investigates what cutting edge research can tell us about the ancient practice of meditation as she takes a journey from Buddhist monks in Nepal, to brain labs in Amer...ica. The programme asks whether meditation can improve the body and whether it can improve the mind. In the United States Sykes learns about the experience of meditation and sees a demonstration of yogic flying and in the United Kingdom, finds out that meditation is being used to treat depression on the NHS. In an effort to find scientific evidence of the neurological and emotional benefits, Sykes meets with several scientists and researchers throughout the programme.
