Description
Here is a piece of limestone that has been freshly quarried. You can see its edges and rough surface. That certainly would not stay like that if it was left out in the open for a few years. This is... obvious from the weathered state of many buildings in Britain that are built of limestone. So what in fact happens to limestone when it's exposed to the weather because after all this is part of the geological cycle you have been reading about this week? Now you might have found some of the ideas about isostacy in this week's Course Unit a little bit hard to grasp. Professor Gass is going to explain what is meant by isostacy again before taking the story further.
