'Going for Gold' is the story of Conor McQuaid, a neuroscience student at the Open University in Milton Keynes filmed during his second year of studying the Blood-Brain-Barrier and its role in Alzh...eimer's disease. It is part of the series 'Images of Modern Biomedicine', a BioPic Production in association with CHPV Media and the History of Biomedicine Research Group, Queen Mary University of London. The project was funded by the Wellcome Trust and Dr Duncan Banks was the academic consultant and coordinator.
