Karen Foley introduces this third event in our special series of bootcamps, and outlines the programme of discussions. John will be teaching us about critical thinking and why it’s so important.... We’ll talk about how critical thinking becomes more important as you develop your academic skills, and how students moving on to level 2 can experience a shift from working descriptively, to then developing a more evaluative approach. Students can often find the term ‘critical’ quite daunting and may initially find being critical difficult, but once these skills have been mastered students are likely to feel satisfied and empowered.
