Dr Nick Turner, Lecturer in Analytical Science, presents some of the new developments in the realm of infrared technology, such as using thermal imaging cameras to pick up heat signatures for night... vision, heat mapping and so on... (just like in Spring Watch!). He explores the wealth of chemical information that can be learned by observing the fine detail of the infrared, such as using it to identify the molecules in drugs, in plastics – and in space!
