Description
Working collaboratively with others either as part of formal module activity or informally as part of a study group, is an important part of your learning as it allows you to apply and test your gr...owing knowledge and understanding of your subject area, as well as help boost confidence and motivation. That said, the thought of collaborative learning can be daunting – will you be able to contribute effectively to the group, what if no one replies to your comments or will it be like that last time when you didn’t find the experience that helpful? This session will look at how to make the most from a wide range of collaborative learning opportunities – both formal (module led) and informal (study group and social media groups), and some of the good practices you can put to use to ensure it’s right for you. This session is also used in (re)Fresher's and Orientation [2018].
