In this session we hope to raise your awareness of the benefits of becoming a member of a student society, with a specific focus on OULS. All OU students have a unique opportunity to get involved w...ith people who share similar interests to you via the ever-growing number of affiliated societies, regardless of which course you are studying. Whether you feel socially isolated, overwhelmed or simply want to learn more about extra-curricular activities available to you, joining one of the 20+ (and growing) societies allows you to make new friends, enhance your career prospects and enjoy your time as a student. During this session we will discuss: The range of societies available, the benefits of joining a society, and how to become a member; How societies work and how to get involved in running your own society; Introduction to OULS, who we are, what we do, what we can do for you; Overview of events and opportunities; How to join
