Description
Steve, Victoria and Keir will introduce you to the new criminology curriculum, R21, BA (Hons) Criminology. They will discuss what has been distinctive about studying criminology at the OU. You wil...l hear about the expertise and interests of the team who are producing the qualification and the modules that make it up. They will indicate why they work as criminologists. The presenters will focus on DD105 Introducing criminology and DD212 Understanding criminology. After stating the main themes of these modules, they will illustrate how the themes use case studies such as mass incarceration and the fire at Grenfell Tower in 2017. Finally, there will be a discussion of some of the reasons for studying criminology with the OU.
