This session gives viewers the opportunity to learn more about the Early Childhood team at The Open University. We discuss the inter-disciplinary nature of the team, how this contributes to the ri...chness of the curriculum and how it informs the preparation of our teaching materials. We discuss how our shared belief of regarding children as citizens with rights, particularly in relation to children’s right to be heard, is central to our mission as teachers. We explain how our work is shaped by socio-cultural theoretical perspectives and what this means in practice.
