Description
The Open University has a long history of working with students in prison and in our fiftieth year we are keen to celebrate this history. We believe that working with students in prison has genuine...ly transformative impacts on people’s lives, and not just on the student. Many of our ALs are also very impacted by the experience of going into prison establishments to work with learners, and themselves find the experience quite transformational. In this session, an AL who has formed relationships with learners in prisons and two FASS central academics will talk about why they feel this is an important area of the Open University’s past, present and future.
