Macmillan Coffee Morning 2022 fundraising success

 On 6th October 2022, the Library held its first in-person fundraiser since before the pandemic, hosting a Coffee Morning bake sale to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. It was a great turnout, with people from across the campus visiting the library building to sample the scrumptious array of goodies that were available. There was also a virtual quiz held for those who were unable to attend in-person. 

The fundraising effort was truly bake-tastic, raising a total of £191! We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that donated and provided baked goods for the event. Here’s a little idea of how the money raised could help: 

• £71 could help run Macmillan's Online Community forum for over 3 hours. Typically, that would give nearly 198 people affected by cancer both emotional and practical support.  

• £100 could pay for a person affected by cancer to attend a health and wellbeing event, providing them with skills to improve the management of these areas in their lives.
