Macmillan Coffee Morning 2022 fundraising success

A group of people can be seen standing on the ground floor of the library building, in front on tables displaying baked goods. On 6th October 2022, the Library held its first in-person fundraiser since before the pandemic, hosting a Coffee Morning bake sale to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. It was a great turnout, with people from across the campus visiting the library building to sample the scrumptious array of goodies that were available. There was also a virtual quiz held for those who were unable to attend in-person.

The fundraising effort was truly bake-tastic, raising a total of £191! We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone that donated and provided baked goods for the event. Here’s a little idea of how the money raised could help:

  • £71 could help run Macmillan's Online Community forum for over 3 hours. Typically, that would give nearly 198 people affected by cancer both emotional and practical support.

  • £100 could pay for a person affected by cancer to attend a health and wellbeing event, providing them with skills to improve the management of these areas in their lives.
