Open University included in the BBC 100 website

Among items including the Alexandra Palace Mast, Ceefax, and David Attenborough’s job application, the first OU Degree Ceremony Booklet is one of the items highlighted in the BBC 100 objects website – newly launched to celebrate the BBC’s 100th birthday.

LDS colleagues from the Library and Broadcast and Partnerships, as well as from MarComms, worked with the BBC History Department to create the OU item page

The first OU degree ceremony took place at Alexandra Palace on the 23rd June 1973 and was broadcast live on BBC2. You can find out more about the ceremony and watch clips on the OU Digital Archive.
