Scottish Universities Open Access Press

The OU Library has joined with 17 other Scottish University libraries to create a new open access publishing press. The initiative is a response to the need for more opportunities for researchers to publish as open access – especially for book publishing – as a result of sector policies such as the new UKRI Open Access policy. The project aims to give researchers a cost-effective not-for-profit route to open access publishing, initially for monographs. The press is just being established, with a publishing officer recently recruited and an Editorial Board being set up. The OU Library is a member of the Management Board for the press.
