Vital skills for the workplace can be gained from our wide variety of courses and programmes. We also provide free resources. With accessible, flexible Open University study, refresh your existing skills or develop new ones.

Upskilling programmes and resources

You’ll find an overview of what we offer here. This includes:

  • Access to our free OpenLearn courses on Skill Development Scotland’s My World of Work website.
  • A dedicated skills portal for workers facing redundancy.

Microcredentials

With our microcredentials courses you can gain specialist knowledge and skills to help advance your career, through 10-12 weeks of online study. We offer the opportunity to study fully-funded microcredential courses in a variety of subject areas for career progression.
