If you’d love to change your life, but you’re not sure where your OU study might take you, you’re not alone. From the moment you register for study and up to three years after, the OU’s Careers and Employability Services can help you discover how to make your OU study work for you – whatever your ambitions, age, experience, abilities and disabilities, race or religion, identity and background. 

Achieve your life goals through OU study

An annual survey conducted three years after study reveals 80% of OU in Scotland alumni say OU study helped them achieve their career goals, and 88% their personal goals. 

Employability skills

As well as building your subject knowledge, OU study also builds skills that employers are looking for, which is why they highly value people with an OU qualification. 

OU in Scotland alumni told us about how well they’d further developed employability skills from OU study, with them reporting:

  • self-management - 96%
  • communication and literacy - 95% 
  • problem solving - 92% 

82% of OU in Scotland alumni would recommend OU graduates to their current employer.
