Supporting you with your studies this year

While we hope you are progressing well with your studies, we know how hard lockdown has been for many of you and how difficult it can be to balance studying around the rest of your life.

As President of the Students Association and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Students), we are committed to doing everything we can to support you to succeed in your study goals. We are listening and we have changed some of our policies to provide additional support during this challenging year.

To help you quicky understand the support available, please view our new Student Support Quick Guide

The guide covers options such as extensions, making sure we’re aware of any impacts on your studies (Special Circumstances) and what to do if you feel you need to delay completing your module (deferment or postponement). We’d really encourage you to take a look at this and contact the Students in Secure Environments (SiSE) Team via your Education Department if you need more information.

We know that it can feel challenging if you have fallen behind, but there are many people who can help you, especially your tutors and the SiSE Team.

We all want you to succeed so please get in touch if you need more guidance and support.

Liz Marr, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Students) and Sarah Jones, Open University Students Association President.
