In line with current Government guidance in response to COVID-19, the University has taken the decision to cancel all face-to-face events for the foreseeable future. Our Associate Lecturers (Tutors) have also been asked to cancel any prison or secure unit face-to-face tutorial visits with immediate effect. Where possible, we are asking colleagues to explore alternative options to provide tutorial support to our students in secure environments via telephone or correspondence.
Ongoing Student Support
All our staff are currently having to working from home. Please note many of our Associate Lecturers already work from home and therefore their situation with supporting students and providing TMA feedback should not change. We do, however, find ourselves in a rapidly changing environment and therefore the advice we are providing may be subject to change.
Due to GDPR regulations we are only able to provide student specific information to people listed as an Advocate for the student.
TMA, EMA and iCMA Submission
Assignments should be submitted either online via the eTMA system or by email into the eTMA mailbox where possible. This prevents the delays that are inevitable from the postal system and internal handling of post. However, if electronic submission is not available, assignments can be sent by post to our Milton Keynes office (see address below).

Special Circumstances Forms
We’ve recommended that students in prisons or secure hospital units submit a Special Circumstances form and we’ve asked for these to be submitted via e-mail to SISE-Accessibility@open.ac.uk. If it isn’t possible to submit the form via e-mail, it can be sent to the following address:

We appreciate your patience during this time and can assure you we are doing everything we can to continue to support students in secure environments through this difficult period.
