Abstract
The presentation will explore the new approaches to public engagement for Chinese state-backed investments in Myanmar, focusing on a copper mining project as a case study. Based on field research, it will investigate the project's practices of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the challenges it faces, especially with regards to the community engagement dimension of CSR.
