Join us as we celebrate our 50th birthday, find out about the origins of The Open University and look back at how our teaching has changed over the last 50 years.

You’ll be able to see material from our archives and examples of the equipment sent to students in the early days including microscopes, science kits and computers!

There will be a chance to find out more about why and how the OU was established and how we’ve continued to innovate over the last five decades.

The event will include a presentation from our librarian Amanda Closier, and then a chance for questions and discussion. The event is open to all and we’re especially keen to welcome OU students, alumni and tutors both past and present.

This is a free event but booking is required. Book now via Eventbrite.
