Students offered the opportunity to win a MacBook

Posted on Around the OU

Students from The Open University and beyond are being given the opportunity from Santander to win one of ten MacBooks to assist in their studies.

The computers are available in a prize draw being offered by Santander Universities, a global philanthropic organisation working in the higher education sector.

Any UK student aged 18 or over, including undergraduates, postgraduates, part-time and full-time students, can enter in the draw and you don’t need to bank with Santander.

All students have to do is register for the Santander Open Academy – a free online learning platform – and once you have completed the registration process you can enter the Santander Student Tech Prize Draw. Entries close at 11pm on Thursday 6 March.

The OU has a long-standing partnership with Santander’s Universities programme, and a current three-year partnership agreement in which the programme provides funding for specific OU activities such as internships run by the OU’s own careers service.

It also helps fund the OU’s internal entrepreneurship annual competition, the Open Business Creators’ Fund.

The Santander Open Academy is a free online career-boosting learning platform that contains hundreds of courses from sustainability to leadership and AI to help people build their skills for the future.

A spokesperson from The Open University said:

“We have worked with Santander Universities for many years and seen the impact of our joint initiatives on our students.

“Building skills for students is always a great investment not just in them but for the economies they live in wherever they may be. Given the current cost pressures everyone is facing, we hope our students will find this opportunity a timely one.”
