Description
The programme illustrates the complexity of educational issues and the consequent difficulty in establishing aims and claims. It is both an elaboration of the ideas and practices of child centered ...education and an example of the way apparently clear cut theories can be shown to include hazy and controversial ideas. The programme was made with two objectives in view : first, to indicate how philosophers can uncover assumptions and practices that are often excluded from everyday debates about educational issues, and second to show how these different analysis of a claim can start from similar positions yet end in disagreement about practical policies.
