Description
David Hargreaves works within what he calls the 'phenomenological tradition'. his most recent research was concerned with the nature of the rules underlying classroom interaction and with the conce...pt of 'deviance'. Tony Green offers a critique of 'sociological phenomenology' arguing that the structure of classroom interaction can only be understood in the light of their role in reproducing macro-social perspectives. This programme explores a number of points arising from their work. In particular it looks at the contrasting ways in which they view the 'macro-micro' relationship in the sociology of education.
